NOVUS Health is committed to ensuring we optimize health outcomes. We are dedicated to excellence in clinical care through routine health screenings and management of both acute and chronic illnesses. We are available for timely, quality, accessible, and patient-centered care. Your wellness is our top priority.

Gender-Affirming Care

Gender-affirming care, as defined by the World Health Organization, encompasses a range of social, psychological, behavioral, and medical interventions “designed to support and affirm an individual’s gender identity” when it conflicts with the gender they were assigned at birth. The interventions help transgender people align various aspects of their lives — emotional, interpersonal, and biological — with their gender identity. As noted by the American Psychiatric Association (APA), that identity can run anywhere along a continuum that includes man, woman, a combination of those, neither of those, and fluid.

The interventions fall along a continuum as well, from counseling to changes in social expression to medications (such as hormone therapy). NOVUS Health is committed to supporting each person’s journey. While NOVUS does not currently provide surgical services in this area, hormone therapy, general wellness and counseling services and resource referrals are provided as a part of our ongoing continuum of care services.

Women’s Wellness

NOVUS Health women’s wellness focuses on life satisfaction in relation to physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, economic, occupational, and environmental dimensions. Women’s wellness at NOVUS Health looks at certain aspects and disruptions that alter a woman’s quality of life, such as reproductive and hormonal issues, bone health, gastrointestinal stress, and urinary incontinence. Together with your provider we maintain a holistic approach to your health and well-being.

Specialty Care

Case Management

For our clients that are living with HIV, we provide onsite case management services. NOVUS Health is proud to work with community partners in providing these services. Through our partnership with Williams & Associates, case management staff are onsite and co-located at NOVUS Health sites. Ryan White Medical Case Management is provided to ensure timely and coordinated access to medically-appropriate levels of health and support services. Key activities include:
  • Initial assessment of the service needs
  • Development of a comprehensive, individualized care plan
  • Coordination of services required to implement the plan
  • Continuous client monitoring to assess the efficacy of the plan
  • Periodic re-evaluation and adaptation of the plan, at least every 6 months, as necessary
  • Resource and referral

Linkage to Care

For those newly diagnosed with HIV, who have never been in care, or who have not had care in the past 12 months and are returning to care, a Linkage Case Manager provides a more intensive level of case management and works with clinical staff to ensure treatment and care happens upon entry. Contact NOVUS Health to further discuss these services.

Additional assistance with transportation and access to treatment are provided within this service area.

Behavioral Health

Behavioral health relates to the connection between your behavior and the health of your mind, body, and spirit. It is the way your habits affect your mental and physical health and wellness.

NOVUS Health provides service opportunities to individuals through:

Psychiatric assessments are available through telehealth or in-person with our psychiatric nurse practitioner.

Prevention Program

Prevention is an important part of all our healthcare. At NOVUS Health, we partner with you to take control of your health and well-being. Ongoing screenings and education about prevention is key to a healthier you. Services provided include:

  • Blood pressure screenings
  • Cholesterol screenings
  • Vaccinations
  • Immunizations
  • HIV and STI screenings
  • PrEP
  • Tobacco use screenings
  • Mental health screenings
  • Tuberculosis screenings

STI Clinical Care

NOVUS Health provides confidential and free sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment. The clinic focuses on prevention and education while providing high-quality care to all individuals. We offer these services by appointment or walk-in. Free condoms are available as well. 

PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a service of our STI clinical care and provides HIV prevention treatment to individuals. There are multiple options for preventative therapy for HIV. Ask the NOVUS Health Prevention Services Coordinator for more details or come in and discuss your options.

Pharmacy

With a focus on chronic health issues including HIV and Hepatitis, our on-site pharmacist provides counseling, vaccine services, and support for your individualized treatment plans. In addition to onsite pharmacy services, NOVUS Health partners with multiple Walgreens affiliates as our outside contracted pharmacy. These services provide you with options for accessing treatment and treatment counseling both within and outside our facility.
